The Faculty
(planning permission) was received in January 2011 with the
condition that we have a bat survey when the creatures are
active in the Spring. We have split our project into 3
phases. The preservation of the old bells; The
installation of new bells; The toilet facilities, new
ringing gallery and teaching aids.
The bells have
now been cast at the Whitechapel Bell Foundry and are being
stored with Mr Nicholson our bell hanger. We still have to
raise sufficient funds to remove, restore and replace our old
original bells before installing the new bells underneath them.
Young and old living in this area
of Herefordshire will have the opportunity to learn to ring on a
light peal of bells. Enthusiasts will come together to ring and
the sound of bells will once more be heard across the parish;
the church will become a focus in the consciousness of local
people. The conservation work on our historic bells will protect
our rich heritage for future generations.
A
Flower Festival "In Praise of Harvest" will be held in the
church on 7th -9th
October from 10:am until 5:pm. entrance is £2.50 Tours of the
bell tower will be available from 11:am until 4:pm please wear
